The mission of Baltimore Stained Glass is to provide customized stained glass products for customers seeking unique designs that can be both decorative and potentially functional. Stained glass can provide elegant enhancements to historic homes through transoms, in-house windows, skylights and ceiling work. There are also purely decorative pieces that hang in windows that dress up a house, apartment or workspace. Stained glass is unique in that it changes its appearance throughout the day, whether sunny or cloudy.  

 

Much of the inspiration for designs has come from looking through many books that provide thousands of pages of old houses with unique stained glass work, and window designs dating back to the early 1800’s.  Travel has had a major influence, especially trips to Barcelona to see the works of Gaudi, as well as arts and crafts houses in America. From Portland, Maine to Victoria, Canada, architects of churches, universities, and houses, large and small, feature beautiful glass works. Baltimore is an ideal location to incorporate stained glass, with its great architecture.
